Description
Turn your ideas into a reality with the LongMill Benchtop CNC
The LongMill helps you take your woodworking and fabrication to the next level. Its range of workable materials include: any species of wood, a variety of plastics, soft metals like aluminum and brass, and a variety of machinable foams and waxes for model making or metal casting. Make signs, engravings, mid-size furniture, stands and shelves, wooden toys and games, guitar bodies, and much more! (see more in our Gallery)
We offer our machine because CNC technology opens up a whole new world of making capabilities, especially to those who have a limited shop environment or budget. Our goal is to empower you by giving you access to both a machine that’s capable of a wide range of projects, and by assuring you of the assistance that you’ll receive from our team as well as our ever-growing community of machine owners: many of whom started off green to the world of CNC as well but are now happy to share what they’ve learned along the way. (see our Facebook group and Forum). We provide a complete set of resources and instructions to get you on your way to running your first job on your machine.
We designed the LongMill to be the best hobby CNC router in its class, offering rigidity, and reliability, while being easy to put together. With large extruded aluminum rails, fully supported Y-axes, 1/4″ steel gantries on all axes, and high precision MG-12 type linear guides on the Z-axis, the LongMill is the most powerful CNC router in its class and price point.
Every kit comes with all the…
- Hardware, rails, lead screws, and gantries
- Control box, wires, and motors
- Instructions (downloadable from our website)
Assembly only takes a few hours and can be done with a set of wrenches, Allen keys, and a flat head screwdriver. There is absolutely no soldering. We’ve spent thousands of hours designing and testing the LongMill to ensure that this machine is easy to put together. If you can put together IKEA furniture, then putting together the LongMill will be a breeze.
What do you provide?
- Your own wasteboard/spoilboard (found at your local hardware store), this is the surface that you’ll be mounting your machine to. See the ‘Size’ tab above for more info.
- A router (purchase one from us, use one you already have, or find one at your local hardware store/online)*
For routers, we recommend the Makita RT0700/RT0701. It’s a reliable and super powerful router that we’ve been using on our CNC machines for years.
For routers, we strongly recommend the Makita RT0700/RT0701. It’s reliable, powerful, is speed-adjustable to a large range (10-30K RPM), and its uniform outer body allows for versatile z-axis mounting. We’ve been using the Makita on our CNC machines for years.
There are some other compatible trim routers on the market that you could use – bear in mind we haven’t tested any of these in-depth:
- Dewalt DWP611 (uses 71mm mount)
- Carbide 3D Compact Router (uses 65mm mount)
- Avid Power MW104 (uses 65mm mount)
- MLCS Rocky 30 9056 (uses 65mm mount)
- Ridgid R2401 (needs to adapt from 61mm to our 80mm mount to clear it’s ~6x15mm protruding body notch)
- Bosch Colt PR20EVS (uses 71mm mount but sits much higher up than normal, you’ll have to space up your material)
- Bosch Colt GKF125 (needs to adapt from 72mm to our 80mm mount, also sits much higher up than normal)
The LongMill can accommodate bore sizes of 52, 65, 71, and 80mm, Don’t see your router listed? Let us know the diameter of your router so that we can make an adapter.
Please note that routers/spindles which are…
- Over 2.7kg/6lbs
- Wider than 80mm/3″
…may not be compatible. Please message us with your router size if you have a router that isn’t listed.
*Routers that we supply will be 110V only (North America). If you live in a country that uses a different voltage, please purchase a router in your region. LongMills will come with a power supply that supports both 110V and 220V.
The LongMill comes with free software and is compatible with dozens of other paid and free software. Try our Toolchain Wizard to get a quick recommendation for software that may work best for you.

So I have had the longmill 30 for a few weeks and have logged about 30 hours of actual machine run time. So far this thing has done everything I have thrown at it and has done things very well. I have had no issues with the machine . Only hiccups have been in the gcode processing but even that was a quick fix in notepad and Chris and Kevin has an article and fix for the UGS issue in the forum. I look forward to many hours of creating on this machine.

I really have enjoyed my Longmill. But have been too busy to really use it as much as I would like. In the beginning I admit to being somewhat nervous, but with help from Chris, I managed to work through my fear and actually produce a couple of projects. As I told Chris, customer service in today’s world is a lost art. And I was happy to report that his immediate response to my issues was remarkable.

Extremely happy with purchase. Reasonably priced, well built, and easy to assemble. All parts were Color coded and labeled. Assembly instructions were well written and easy to follow. Best packaging I have ever received and I have ordered a lot of items through the mail over the years. Would strongly recommend.

I had no cnc experience before buying the longmill. I watched many videos before deciding this was the best machine for me. I am extremely happy with my purchase! I’ve been running it hard (30 hours a week) and aside from expected general tune ups I have had no problems to speak of! I did run into a couple of hiccups during assembly, but the customer service I received was outstanding. I would reccomend this machine to anyone. Thanks guys! I’m loving the lingmill!

Sadly the bargain price gets a bit lost in shipping and Duties in Australia. This isn’t Sienci’s fault however if you are buying in Australia budget an extra $1000 to cover shipping and duties.
The machine is great assembly is pretty easy.

So far We really enjoyed using the longmill this is our first time using a Cnc so we had a little trouble to start operating the machine so we called and with your great customer service we started to roll and from then we started making things that would normally be a little difficult by hand cutting. We notice sometimes the box would not stay on so we restart if that happens but then it would start Working until it totally stop so I called and emailed the video of the issue and you all shipped out another box the same day and also give me a temporary solution so that I can continue using the cnc untill the new box came in so receive the new box that came with the stop switch and lighting on top when on works great top class customer service will always be a customer and highly recommend Sienci labs

First, let me say, I put my LongMill together all by myself and Chris’ videos were extremely helpful (thanks to Covid-19 he had the time – eh!) I’m so happy I went with the LongMill! Sienci Labs make an awesome product! If not for the great price, I would still only be dreaming about having a CNC machine. By the way, your product support is FABULOUS! Hey ladies out there, this machine is for us too!!! I’ve been having fun making test cuts to get familiar with the bits and what they do. I will post something to the forum soon! I LOVE MY LONGMILL!! The only thing that could make it better is a rotary attachment 😉

It’s a good machine. I think at this price point it is an incredible value. Rock solid. great electronics. As always there are tweaks and such you will do but if you’re like me you would tinker with it even if there weren’t

Assembly was pretty straightforward. A little bit of a snafu with the wheel sizes Sienci sent being incorrect, but Chris spotted the problem immediately and showed me where to get the wheels I needed.
All in all, I really love the ability to customize and scalability of the system. So far it works well and is a rock-solid build. Great value for the money!

This machine is amazing! The quality is excellent and the design is well thought out. I am super excited to put it to work. I also really appreciated the concise instructions, everything went smooth in putting it together and was easy to understand. The only problem I had with the whole thing was when I connected the side rails to the rollers. I rushed it and didn’t read all the instructions and cracked a roller wheel because I didn’t have it loose enough (as the instructions said to…). I’ll have to buy a new one of those, but other than that everything went together perfectly. It actually even works fine with the cracked roller, but I can get the part easily. It’s an awesome machine at a ridiculously good price.

I got the 30 x 30 longmill and it has been a blast learning all about how a CNC works. Putting it together really gave me a good understanding about the machine. I spent more time building the table to put it on than putting the machine together. I think it took me about 8 to 10 hours to assemble. I had a little problem getting the wheels on the tracks and later found out the wheel manufacture had provided wheels that were a little to big. The good folks at Sienci sent new wheels as soon as they were notified of the issue. I have had my CNC since mid July and have used it every day making various types of American Flags which is exactly what I bought the machine for. The machine works like a charm. Yes, I have had my share of errors but so far they have been mostly caused by operator error. I am getting a little better every day. The price for this machine seems to be very reasonable and the customer service has been outstanding. I would definitely recommend this machine to anyone looking to get a CNC.

I didn’t have any CNC experience previous to buying the Long Mill. Assembly documentation was excellent, and assembly went smoothly. The first few projects have gone well and I’ve managed not to break any tooling or components!

My 2nd cnc first was a well recognized hobby unit with belt drive.. I found that a bit of a pain as i use the cnc in sperts separated months amd it seemed to need constant calibration. I’m a luthier so do a lot of inlay work with shell and a lot of work with hardwoods like ebony. I demand a fair bit of accuracy and I find the Longmill provides that.. I also make a number of templates out of 18mm baltic birtch plywood and that machines great with the Longmill. It was easy to assemble and seems very ridgid. Like that I have flexibility with the waste board design and currently have a simple homemade T track one.. Controller seemscgood and is quiet compared to my previous one.. Have to say I am 100% happy thus far..

I bought a little toy CNC On Amazon and quickly decided I needed something real. I was about to buy one of the others on the market when I came across the Longmill by accident. I am sooo glad I did. I bought a 12×30 model that same night. Science shipped it to me in a matter of a few days and I assembled it in about 4 hours. I could have done it much faster but took my time. It has worked So well that I have already ordered to size upgrade kit. Once again Sienci has shipped that in just 1 working day and I can hardly wait to get it later this week. Seriously, I cannot think of a single thing that this company or product has fallen short on. My three words of advice for anyone thinking about a CNC are “Buy a Longmill!”
You will not be sorry you did.

I’ve never owened a CNC machine before but i do have experience with lasers and 3D printing. Learning how to create files and such was super simple with all the tutorials on youtube though. It only took me about 4hrs to set the whole thing up minus a small part error due to shipping. As soon as i informed Scienci of this i had the part 2days later. I’ve been cranking out projects since getting this thing running with about 100hrs of cut time i’ve pretty much made my money back making small pieces of furniture, flags and plaques. I completely am satisfied with my purchase to say the least.

Very precisely tooled machine with excellent directions for assembly. I’ve had no previous experience with CNC, but I’m learning the software (Carbide Create and UGSplatform) and I’m having lots of fun in the process.
