Q: What is the UltraBeam CO2 Laser?

The UltraBeam is a new product that combines CO2 laser technology with a CNC router platform, offering precise and versatile laser cutting and engraving capabilities. Like a CNC router, or 3D printer it uses computer control, but instead of traditional tools, it employs a CO2 laser beam for cutting and engraving materials with exceptional accuracy.

Q: What can I make with the UltraBeam?

The UltraBeam can be used to create a wide range of items and products across various industries. With it, you can produce custom signage, home décor, personalized gifts, packaging, and prototypes. Additionally, it’s useful for crafting model miniatures, jewelry, and educational materials. Its precision and ability to work with diverse materials like wood, acrylic, and metal make it a valuable tool for both personal and professional use, enabling users to bring their creative ideas to life with ease.

How Fast Is the UltraBeam?

The UltraBeam will be able to engrave an image at 600mm/s (raster engraving). Effective cutting speed will depend on the material type and thickness. For reference, this is about 10 times faster than the Longmill + LaserBeam can engrave an image (66mm/s).

Q: How Powerful is the UltraBeam?

The UltraBeam will have a rated power of 70W that is produced by the CO2 glass laser tube. For reference, that is 10 times more powerful than the LaserBeam diode add-on (7W).

Q: How large is the work area?

We are designing the UltraBeam to have a work area of 36 x 24 inches (914 x 609mm)

Q: How do I vent the UltraBeam?

The UltraBeam will come with a built in exhaust fan and flexible ducting so that you can vent the fumes created by the UltraBeam to the outside. We will also offer an additional inline fan and a 3 Stage Hepa Filter for those who can’t vent outside or want additional exhaust and filtering capabilities.

Q: What software do I need?

You will need the Lightburn DSP software to design projects and run them on your UltraBeam. We have a long standing relationship with Lightburn and they are the best for Laser software.

Q: Is the UltraBeam difficult to use?

We are developing the UltraBeam to be as easy to use as possible, we will also create easy to follow video tutorials, online resources and a biweekly live stream to show you how easy creating with the UltraBeam can be.
