1/4″ to 1/8″ Collet Adapter

Most routers come with 1/4″ collets so only cutting tools and router bits with 1/4″ shanks can be used. By inserting this adapter into a 1/4″ collet your router will now be able to use commonly available 1/8″ shank tooling such as v bits and end mills.

This effect is similar to having a 1/8″ precision collet specialized to your router but tends to be less reliable and accurate, so it’s only recommended if you do occasional or light-duty cutting with your 1/8″ bits.
