PleaseNote: Power supplies are 110V only, (North America). If you live in a country with 220V/240V power, our standard LongMill MK2 power adapter must use a transformer with a rating above 300 watts to convert their power to 110V/120V, **Routers that we supply will be 110V only (North America). If you live in a country that uses a different voltage, please purchase a router in your region.
For dimensioned drawings all of the machines, please download our PDF document. If you’d like to see some tables that our community members have built for their own machines, we’ve got a page on it here: Community Table Builds. If you’re looking to properly size a space to put your machine or are making a dedicated table, ensure that you leave enough room for the LongMills control box and any other peripherals that you might be using like a laptop, monitor, keyboard, etc. The control box is roughly 150mm x 280mm, has holes so that it can be easily screwed or mounted to any surface, and has a USB port on its left side which allows you to connect your computer to control the machine.
FAQ
What materials can it cut? The LongMill is primarily designed for cutting wood but is capable of cutting foam, plastic, and soft metals such as aluminum and brass. Where can I buy end mills and other tooling? End mills and bits are available on sale on our website as well as online such as Amazon and Ebay, or at your local hardware store such as Home Depot or Lee Valley. Absolutely love the Longmill mk2 30×30. Take your time with assembly and you should have a great machine! Instructions are some of the best out there! This is my second CNC, wish I would have just took the leap for the Longmill first!

As a beginner, having a package with all I would need to get started is the BEST. With all there is to choose from, I like this idea. The instructions were well written, along with the video, I was able to assemble my machine with very little problems. The customer service area is not what I expected. They are good in responding, but it is done only by emails, which is difficult, because sometimes you might be doing something, need help but it would take a day to get an answer, because you can’t speak to anyone. The software, Vectric Pro, is challenging, only because I am not experienced with it. Just a new learning curve, but I can tell you that who ever wrote it put a lot of thought into it. I think it is amazing, never seen a program like it. I registered for Kyle’s Learn Your CNC, and I highly recommend it. He takes you, step by step, with every aspect of the program. I am currently designing a Ham Radio call sign sign for a friend. I am excited to see how it will turn out.

I am new to the world of CNC and ultimately decided to purchase the MK2 Longmill 48″x30″ because of the price point, the accessories, and very in depth review I watch from an outside company, IDC woodworking.
I built a bench top over two sturdy sawhorses to hold my CNC. once the bench top was ready it took me maybe 3hrs to get it put together.
My biggest struggle has honestly just been learning the vetrix software, understanding speeds and feeds and setting the right stepover for the project to get the right trade off in time and smooth finish.
I have completed several 2.5/3D carvings and a variety of 2D projects and have learned something new with each one. It appears the only limitations I have run into are my knowledge of the software and my ability to get the machine to do exactly what I want. There has been a leaning curve but I have produce and sold some of my projects in the short time that I have owned my longmill and look forward to each new project I do.

After a bit of a delay completing the assembly of my 30×48 I am very happy with the machine so far. I am very inexperienced with the software and CNCs, however as Scott says in the Which Software to use video, just try it out and learn. So learning it is and some oops along my learning path.
Currently just cutting pieces for an inter-changeable welcome sign hoping the third time is the charm for the right size with the right size and type of bit. (lol)
Once comfortable with the basics, I will try to cut some of our custom game boards (which I used to do all by hand).

Getting the machine and setting it up was good. I find my biggest issue is as follows. I have run CNC machines for 30 years. I have increasingly come to realize that in learning to run your machine I have literally had to “unlearn” my past experiences. Quite often the problems I was running into on your machine I made overly complicated when the problem was basic and simple. As I literally worked in an industry before and after CNC was introduced, I have pretty much run into and seen every problem these machines can give you. For example I watched a guy start a very big CNC lathe and in 3 seconds cause $100k damage because he started the machine in the wrong spot. I spent a lot of time proving out programs where block by block in the program and DTG (distance to go) where the normal operating procedure. Your gsender was driving me crazy because I cannot watch the program on the screen as it progresses. We did not have graphic simulation until the mid ’80’s, which was a very expensive option at the time.

Overall great machine, not a fan of the assembly video for the 48″ as it lacks some details but once you take a deep dive into it and understand the machine (really the trademark of a cnc’er) it’s an awesome machine

Thanks for checking in. The LongMill is fully assembled and properly operating thanks to your assembly video and excellent assembly manual. As a retired instructor, I can identify with the amount of work required to develop a good instruction manual. I have not created anything yet as I just finished welding the table this morning. I’ll submit another review after all the equipment is properly mounted and aligned. Thanks again for checking in and also for developing all of the training videos.

This Machine is AWESOME!
This beginners kit was truly for me as I had ZERO experience with CNC, it has everything you need to get you started as far as hardware goes, although you will quickly realize why there are so many different types of END Mills. Assembling the machine was very pleasant. I can’t help but smile when all the parts fit perfectly together as intended. At the start, I had an issue with GSENDER connecting to my MacBook Pro, The issue was promptly resolved with the help on Sienci’s customer support. (Avoid using a USB adapter of any kind). to connect the machine. I Ended up buying a USB_C to printer cable and it’s been flawless since.
The Auto Zero touch plate that comes with the beginners kit is indispensable if you want precision work. There is no way that I could ever eyeball a measuring device with that kind of precision. The dust shoe is being well used with every project, Makita makes an impressive router that holds up to hours and hours of use.
I have been making amazing projects including signs, 3d carvings and wall art for the house ever since. I even had friends that requested stuff after seeing the results! Your imagination and design capabilities are the limit here and I am constantly impressed at what this machine is capable of and how precise these things can be.
Overall I’m glad I chose the Longmill 30×30 MK2, the whole surface is being used and more! Just add a cool CAD software like Vectric VCarve and you are good to GO!

I love the machine, but just had so many problems with it stopping during a job, disconnecting (EMI) or doing something erratic. It was very frustrating and not enjoyable after being so excited with a new machine and wanting to just make things. I’m a bit of a problem solver, and did my research to find that grounding was the cause in my case. After properly grounding my vacuum, and the machine chassis it’s been flawless so far. I think it’s very important for people to know this and maybe supply some kinda ground system with the machine or as an add on. It would make using the system a lot more enjoyable and maybe solve a lot of the problems. This really took a lot of my time setting up and figuring out, but ran the machine after words for about an hr, and a few smaller jobs with no issues. I hope for longer jobs it still works the same. Anyways this my feedback, I think it’s great you guys are always developing and making better improvements, and evolving. You have an awesome product when the bugs are worked out and now I’m excited on making neat things. Thanks!

I wish there was another “Pro” Kit that included the limit switches a spindle/VFD. As a beginner I didn’t realize the spindle would be a better option and the limit switches, once I understood what they did, was a no brainer. But I had to place another order afterwards.
Its been great tho!
