I do like how conveniently it can set all of the zeroes, but I don’t like having to hold it so firmly in place while it does its thing. The spindle comes in and can push my handle away making it necessary to start over. Its also a little too jerky. Such rapid movement shouldn’t be necessary while probing.

One big problem though, the xyz probe needs a code tweak. I’ve crashed it a couple of times because I forgot to select the corner I was using. The speed that the head moves at is waaaaaay to fast during this operation, especially since I have to hold the block down. Very dangerous and frustrating. Also, the stop button on the screen doesn’t work during this time, so I have to run to the big red button.

Love the auto touch, but I wish i could user it with my 1 inch surfacing bit. Also it would be nice to have a holder for it to go in on the cnc.

Works as designed. I did have to adjust the thickness in gsender by about .004 or so to get it dialed in but other than that, no issues.

If the depth was not as deep I would be able to shorten up the length my cutter sticks out. Otherwise it works great.

Very easy to use! Wish they could add a feature for the xyz option to set the material thickness so I could do xyz but also have z-zero the machine bed.

Beautiful, well made. I am still in beginning phase. I had to build the space for the CNC. I finally got the room ready by
July 15, assemble the Altmill and am slowly learning all the usage of the machine. It is somewhat stressful to become a CNC user. I am slowly learning the operation. I have not yet made a project. I got my spoilboard fastened and looks good. It is level and just recently fine tuned the tram. IDC has been my help when I am in trouble learning. So far, I have not completed the probe use. I hope to be on track to complete my dreams with many projects.
