How often should I lubricate parts on my machine?
Just like changing oil in your car, service intervals are important to keep a CNC machine functioning optimally. We advise greasing our machines after a number of runtime hours. Sometimes this is difficult to gauge and set a ‘standard’ for everyone and every machine. It ultimately boils down to how fast, hard and often you run your machine. See the suggested run-time hours listed.

How often should I lubricate parts on my AltMill 2×4 or 4×4?

• Lubricate your linear guides every 165hrs of use
• Lubricate your x-rail ball screw every 165hrs of use
• Simply put: lubricate your machine once a month if you’re running your AltMill 8hrs per day, every business day

How often should I lubricate parts on my AltMill 4×8

• Lubricate your y-rail racks every 165hrs of use
• Lubricate your linear guides every 165hrs of use
• Lubricate your x-rail ball screw every 165hrs of use
• Simply put: lubricate your machine once a month if you’re running your AltMill 8hrs per day, every week day

How often should I lubricate parts on my LongMill MK3

• Lubricate your linear guides every 165hrs of use
• DO NOT USE white lithium grease on your lead screws // See instructions for proper maintenance
• Simply put: lubricate your machine once a month if you’re running your MK3  8hrs per day, every week day

Do I need to lubricate parts on my LongMill MK2.5 (or earlier model)?
We do not recommend lubricating parts with lithium grease on Mk2.5 or earlier machines.
