MK1 LongMill Magnetic Dust Shoe

⚠️ This dust shoe is designed for use with the LongMill Benchtop CNC MK1 – IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the LongMill Benchtop CNC MK2

Designed to keep your cutting mess contained and shop air clean. Ensure that your work area stays clear so that you can focus on what matters instead of the cleanup.

• Z-axis independence means you can set and forget your shoe height and know that it’ll maintain a good ‘seal’ with your material
• Maintain a clear view of the cutting action with the new cutting window that’s placed within the bristles
• Easily detach the magnetic shoe for quick tool changes or probing stock material
• Tapered hose port fits multiple standard hose sizes for easy hookup to your own dust collection system (either directly or via commonly available hose adapters)

Made to use with our LongMill benchtop CNC and the Makita trim router. This shoe design is fully backwards compatible with all LongMill designs – only requiring one (V2) or two (V1) holes to be drilled into your X-gantry. For reference – this shown at 15:48 in the video below and requires a 5.5mm, 13/64″, or 7/32″ drill bit.

This item contains all the parts for one dust shoe. Spare small hardware and a replacement cutting window is also included.

The dimensions of the tapered hose port are 51 – 54.5mm on the outside and 44.5mm on the inside. This is sized to fit standard 2″ to 2-1/8″ hoses on the outside or a 1.5″ hose on the inside.

The magnetic bracket on the right side reduces the x-axis travel by 33.5mm compared to the 50mm of the old design.

The opening in the shoe is made to accept the 65mm diameter bore of the Makita trim router and other similar router designs like the Carbide 3D Compact Router and Avid Power MW104 but would need to be widened if used on a larger bore router or spindle.
