PleaseNote: Power supplies are 110V only, (North America). If you live in a country with 220V/240V power, our standard LongMill MK2 power adapter must use a transformer with a rating above 300 watts to convert their power to 110V/120V, **Routers that we supply will be 110V only (North America). If you live in a country that uses a different voltage, please purchase a router in your region.
For dimensioned drawings all of the machines, please download our PDF document. If you’d like to see some tables that our community members have built for their own machines, we’ve got a page on it here: Community Table Builds. If you’re looking to properly size a space to put your machine or are making a dedicated table, ensure that you leave enough room for the LongMills control box and any other peripherals that you might be using like a laptop, monitor, keyboard, etc. The control box is roughly 150mm x 280mm, has holes so that it can be easily screwed or mounted to any surface, and has a USB port on its left side which allows you to connect your computer to control the machine.
FAQ
What materials can it cut? The LongMill is primarily designed for cutting wood but is capable of cutting foam, plastic, and soft metals such as aluminum and brass. Where can I buy end mills and other tooling? End mills and bits are available on sale on our website as well as online such as Amazon and Ebay, or at your local hardware store such as Home Depot or Lee Valley. What software can you use with the LongMill? The LongMill is compatible with dozens of free and paid CAM software. The LongMill is compatible with standard G-code. You can check out our resources page at www.sienci.com/resources and look under the software tab. We’ll be hosting webinars and creating additional resource videos to help you learn to design and program your CNC machine. What system requirements are there? You can run your machine off virtually any modern laptop made in the last 5 years running Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. We’ve tested our machine with Intel Celeron and AMD Phenom processors with less than 2GB of RAM with no issues (although it is a bit slow). For any other downloadable CAD or CAM programs that don’t run on the cloud, please check with the software creator for minimum system requirements. What spindles or routers can I use? While we recommend the Makita RT0701/RT0700, you can also use other trim/palm style routers. You will be able to let us know what tool you want to use and we will send you the appropriate mount. Will there be 4th or 5th axis support? In the immediate future, there will not be 4th or 5th axis support for the LongMill. If you would like to implement an additional axis to your machine, we encourage users to try creating their own and sharing it with the community!

Machine quality has been great. I’m not entirely sure why there are not washers on the x-axis v rollers; it seems there should be to help with alignment and wear. I’m no expert, though so I am assuming I have alignment problems. I’ve replaced these rollers due to flat spots. I am less impressed with the software. My roots are in software development. On multiple occasions the code would error on fusion cam exports. On several occasions toolpaths have been wrong. Reloading the code fixes the issue. This can be a significant problem for obvious reasons, but candle, as an example, has behaved perfectly fine so the problem is limited to the gsender software. I am using gsender only for the zeroing feature. The software is the weak point with this product. I am quite happy with my purchase.

So far most happy with the machine. I have issues with accessories. Specifically the dust boot. The vacuum port end is a non-standard size. I had to have a piece custom made to attach to it. When I emailed about it, I received a curt response saying “this is how we do it, so it is just fine”. Not everyone wants to buy a shop vac with a certain fitting to try to sort of work. It should be an industry standard size. Also, my dust shoe was very poorly printed. It had random fibers all through the interior. I had to run a spiral brass brush through it to make it even useable. The whole attachment could have been designed better and mounted to spindle bracket face so it moves with the Z axis. The other concern I had was the cabling. While assembling my machine, I found 4 cables. All four are different lengths. Again, when I emailed about it, I was given a very abrupt reply that amounted to “you are wrong, they are the same length”. I assure that they are different, I actually measured them, one cable is almost 40% longer than the rest.
The assembly video specific to my machine was fairly difficult to locate on the Sienci website. I attempted the video for the machine with the upgrades, but it was almost useless. Here is a bit of advice, when showing assembly of components colored black, try not to wear a black shirt. It hides what you are trying to show. Once I did find the correct assembly video, it was actually painful to watch. And fairly confusing. The side commentary and background chatter made it hard to follow.
Honestly, I like the machine. I am afraid of contacting “support” anymore. I don’t appreciate condescention, and certainly not when I spent a pretty good sum of money and asked simple questions. The whole experience says “we got your money, leave us alone” and that is pitiful. The machine has so much potential, if only the rest of the deal was as good. With all of that being that way, I can easily see my machine outlasting the company that made it. And that is not what I had hoped for when I purchased it. If anyone actually cares to talk more about these issues, please feel to contact me. As long as it is NOT Mr Kent. Anyone but Mr Kent.

So far only my husband has used the longmill, but he is loving it and is amazed at what it can do. I was planning on getting to work on it over this long holiday weekend, but ended up getting sick. I can’t wait to get out and start making some Christmas presents for family!

I placed my order for the Longmill MK2 48×30 in the beginning of October. It was on my door step with in 10 days.
Setup was very easy with the documentation that was provided (paper & video). Take your time.
I have only used the Sienci Labs support one time via email. They were very helpful with my question, in a timely manner.
Sienci Labs continue to put out video documentation and company updates on a regular basis. I highly recommend that you make that a favorite YouTube sight. I am not sure that all CNC manufactures go to that length of support.
While I waited for my Longmill to arrive, I started looking into software. I decided on Vectric Vcarve Pro. Then I started using the free version to learn the basic ins and outs of the software. When I had my Longmill setup I started to apply what I learned with the software.
Learn your SOFTWARE!!!
Gsender is the software that tells Longmill what to do. I have found that this software is very easy to use. I also use it Gsender on my phone which is very convenient.
A parting note: Your Longmill will do what the software tells it too. I have had issues with a couple of my projects, but it was not my Longmill, it was me. Longmill works as advertised.
Projects:
To date I have made a few signs, a couple of 3D carvings, a photo carve. All that I could not have done without my Longmill.
Take your time and enjoy your Longmill, I AM.

This kit is great! I’ve been looking at diy plans and desktop CNC options for years and finally pulled the trigger on the longmill. I should have done this years ago.
It was on my doorstep within 48 hours of ordering. I was cutting wood the following day. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The video links make it that much easier.
The beginner’s kit was a no brainer for me. Even though I had several of the router bits already it’s nice to have a good selection right off the bat without having to buy a bunch of extra stuff. The dust shoe and touch plate are well engineered pieces and have been performing perfectly.
I’ve had the machine up and running about a month and it’s been a blast. Gsender is working like a charm, although I’m still learning the ropes of Vectric.
Overall my whole experience has been fantastic!

I knew zero about CNC machines when I bought my MK2. Between the sience tutorials and you tub channel “IDC Woodcraft” I actually designed, cut and finished a pretty nice jewelry box for my daughter. My only negative is I am not especially creative… The machine and support however have been spot on.

I was initially hesitant about building the longmill. I have to say it was easy following along with the Sienci construction video. Then the included programs to square and calibrate the longmill were simple to follow and in no time ( about 6 Hrs going slowly ) had the longmill up and running.
I have been extremely pleased with my 30 x 30 so far. It does what I ask without strange issues I am having with my Chinese 6040
the included Gsender CAM ( the movement control software) is also easy to use. Much better than Mach 3 for a biginner. All in all I have very happy with my longmill

I’m now helping my daughter set up hers because when she saw what it can do she had to have one.
So now we are bouncing ideas back and forth.

While researching CNC routers I ran across a video that Garrett Fromme did and he recommended the Longmill for quality and price, so that’s why I bought it.
Everything I needed was there. The instructions were very detailed and easy to follow.
I’m still not up to speed on programming a project and running it, but I did purchase a couple of other files that I was able to route and they turned out very good.
I know I made the right choice when I bought the Longmill.

I’m more than happy with my purchase. Having to assemble the machine was an intuitive experience that allowed me to understand how the machine functions mechanically. Having no experience with a cnc, I feel very confident that I can use the machine with little fear that I can break something while learning how to operate. I look forward to using this machine to help create parts for my hobby/side gig

I had no previous experience with a flatbed CNC. This kit really was a kit and required even more assembly than expected, but the instructions were clear and the organization of the parts was unbelievable! I was really impressed. I enjoyed the assembly process and feel that I learned a lot by doing it. Haven’t had to contact customer service for anything, but from what I’ve heard, actually look forward to eventually having that need. You can see a video on YouTube showing my first project: https://youtu.be/Tva11A27FZY

Mine showed up missing a few things but Sienci sent them out right away and i had them in just a couple of days. i would highly recommend this machine to anyone. you will not regret getting one.

Did research for months. One key factor was price, the other customer service. If you stand behind your product it has to be good!
I purchased the 48×30″ MK2. Could not believe how big and beefy the unit was! No play in any of the rails. This was very well thought out! Exceptional machine!! Keep up the great work!
Will be making a purchase of the rotary unit, in the near future.
Cheers
