Turn your ideas into a reality with the LongMill Benchtop CNC MK2.5
The LongMill MK2.5 is an improved version of the LongMill MK2, with changes including:
The new SuperLongBoard
Spring Loaded Anti-Backlash Nuts
…and other minor changes.
The LongMill helps you take your woodworking and fabrication to the next level. Its range of workable materials includes any species of wood, a variety of plastics, soft metals like aluminum and brass, and a variety of machinable foams and waxes for model making or metal casting.
We designed the LongMill to be the best hobby CNC router in its class, offering rigidity, and reliability. With large extruded aluminum rails, fully supported Y-axes, 1/4″ steel gantries on all axes, high power NEMA 23 motors, and high precision MG-12 type linear guides on the Z-axis, the LongMill MK2 is the most powerful CNC router in its class at its price point.
This kit comes with:
All rails, gantries, fasteners, lead screws, and other hardware parts to make a complete LongMill
All electronics, including power supply, controller, drivers, and motors. PleaseNote*Power supplies are 110V only, (North America). If you live in a country with 220V/240V power, our standard LongMill MK2 power adapter must use a transformer with a rating above 300 watts to convert their power to 110V/120V
Assembly instructions and resources
Excellent lifetime technical support during the life of your ownership
Tools and supplies needed for assembly (not included in the kit) are
3/4″ MDF sheet to act as a working surface
An electric drill or screwdriver
A laptop or computer
A router and end mills (for purchase separate on our store)
For routers, we recommend the Makita RT0700/RT0701. It’s reliable, powerful, speed-adjustable to a large range (10-30K RPM), and its uniform outer body allows for versatile z-axis mounting. We’ve been using the Makita on our CNC machines for years. The LongMill MK2 comes free as standard with a 65mm router mount, which is compatible with the Makita RT0700/RT0701 and most variations of this router design. If you wish to use a different size router or spindle, please check out the other sizes that we offer.
*Routers that we supply will be 110V only (North America). If you live in a country that uses a different voltage, please purchase a router in your region.
The LongMill comes with free software and is compatible with dozens of other paid and free software. Try our Toolchain Wizard to get a quick recommendation for software that may work best for you.

For dimensioned drawings all of the machines, please download our PDF document.
If you’d like to see some tables that our community members have built for their own machines, we’ve got a page on it here: Community Table Builds.
If you’re looking to properly size a space to put your machine or are making a dedicated table, ensure that you leave enough room for the LongMills control box and any other peripherals that you might be using like a laptop, monitor, keyboard, etc. The control box is roughly 150mm x 280mm, has holes so that it can be easily screwed or mounted to any surface, and has a USB port on its left side which allows you to connect your computer to control the machine.
Add-ons
You can include add-ons to improve the functionality of the LongMill. These are all optional. For additional add-ons, please see our Add-On section of our store.
We recommend using the RT0700/RT0701Makita trim router with your LongMill (we only sell the 110V version). This router comes with speed control from 10,000 to 30,000RPM and has 1.25HP of power. This router is compatible with 1/4″ shank tooling and can be adapted to 1/8″ shank tooling using a 1/4″ to 1/8″ collet adapter.
Our Z-axis independent, magnetic dust shoe allows you to attach standard vacuum hoses to your CNC machine, allowing it to suck up dust as it’s cutting, making clean up easier and keeping dust out of the air.
This dust shoe is adjustable in the Z direction, and the front bristles and vacuum hose can be easily detached to make it easy to change bits.
Our 3-axis touch plate allows you to set the ‘origin’ or starting point of your cutting tool very accurately based off the surface of the material you’re going to be cutting.
Place the touch plate onto the corner of the material to locate the cutting bit in both X, Y, and Z-directions to start your cutting job, or use it to set the Z-height of the tool to accomplish tool changes on more complicated projects.
Prevent dust and debris from getting into your Y-axis lead screws with our dust shields designed for the LongMill MK2. Each pair of dust shields are made from formed sheet metal which are easily installed between the front and back feet of your machine using M5 hardware. Please note that the ACME lead screws and Delrin Anti-backlash nuts used on the LongMill are designed to work in dusty conditions and the dust covers are not required for general use. Please note that this dust shield only fits the LongMill MK2 30×30.
Inductive sensors allow users to add homing and limit switch functionality to their machines. We only recommend this kit to advanced users

Great machine! I have done several projects since I bought the LongMil. I think one thing that I would add to the package is a small tube of the lubricant for the Z axis rails. I would like to buy some if there is availability.

I had inherited a Bob’s E4 from my brother-in-law, so that was my entry into CNC woodworking. It was good for learning but I found it was not robust enough or quite big enough for what I wanted to do. Enter the Longmill MK2! Wow! Talk about a solid machine at a great price point. It arrived safe and sound in about 10 days (remote BC city). No damage during shipping, well packed, and nothing missing – in fact plenty of extra parts. Online instructions and videos were excellent, my only issue was orienting the drag chain “anchors” properly, but figure that out pretty quickly. Just finishing my waste board/t-track assembly, then it’s time to build some things that friends have commissioned. Very impressed with my investment. Thanks Sienci Labs – you have exceeded my expectations and my customers will know what a great machine you produce. So great to buy Canadian too!

Still a newbie and the machine is solid. Not to worry, I can’t do any harm.
Just now I’m installing the probe and the 3 whatchamacallit thingy things.
Standby for more information soon.

The machine is fantastic. We downloaded the V Carve Pro software and this was a tremendous help in getting to know thw machine. We also have a guy at work that works our SMD Electronics machine which has helped me a lot. On V Carve there are many vidioes as to how to get the design ready to download onto the machine. It is expensive but very well worth while. The desing of the machine is ingenious and putting it together was a dream. As easy as anything. Service was good. We are doing some carvings from the Clipart from V Carve at present

I worked with CNC machines before retiring 20 years ago. I purchased a small Chinese made machine a few years ago. This gave me knowledge as to what features I would want to have in a new, bigger machine. I watched Youtube on CNC machines and videos and discovered your machine. Also I found the videos that Garrett Fromme presented. These videos were most helpful and he is a good instructor.
Before starting assembly, I downloaded the assembly manual and watched the videos that you have. By watching these videos, the assembly was straightforward.
I have not had to use customer service so far but I have every confidence that the customer service will be as good as the machine.
If I could make a suggestion, I would add a couple features to G-sender. (1) I would make the console window larger so that you could have more lines of G-code and be able to edit them. (2) Add a tool so that you can resize a project or parts of a project.
At the present time, I am using scrap wood to get familiar with the machine and its features. This is a hobby for me and I look forward to many hours of making sawdust and some nice projects.

I have not use the CNC much yet since I’ve been working but the projects I have been able to run of it came out within specification of the CAD designs. It is very accurate and very powerful as well. For the price, it is a good machine. Assembly was straightforward. The only problem I have encounter is with the limit switches. I seems to get errors running codes when the switches are on. So far, I have turn them off. Hopefully the software gets better and the switches works without faults.

Assembly was super easy. Definitely a little time consuming but the instructions were incredibly detailed and easy to follow.
Once it was together and set up it took some time to get the hang of the design program (I’m using Carbide Create Pro) but GSender was intuitive.
I’ve made crib boards, cutting boards, trays and a few signs.

I have been looking at CNC routers off and on for about 10 years. I could never find anything that fit my budget and situation. I stumbled on Sienci Labs and the Longmill through You Tube about a year ago. It was a perfect fit. I finally pulled the trigger last month. The assembly instructions were spot on and it has performed beautifully. I want to make a small business from it. I have completed my first project and it is a wall clock. I will upload pictures of it and my setup to the Sienci forum.
The biggest learning curve is the V-Carve software. I am an engineer that uses Solidworks and AutoCad, so the curve isn’t too steep. The resources on your website are pretty extensive and thorough. The one thing I would like to see is a more comprehensive feeds and speeds chart. The G-sender control is good but has some quirks. Like not remembering the origin point and defaulting back to G54 at the end of every program. This has burned me a couple of times. The Longmill is an awesome product and valve. The biggest problem I have is trying to decide which project to do next. The possibilities are endless.

Thanks for a great product that instills confidence and reliability.

Very good machine easy to setup and to use, still some issue to be fixed like some training issues, but overall it is a very good and robust machine. It’s my second CNC without too much experience, however the LongMill MK2 is much more easy to setup than my previous machine and also much more rigid and as a consequence much more precise

Hello,
I am am 83 year old male with absolutely no CNC experience. I wanted a new hobby, so I investigated several areas and decides to try CNC, although with great apprehension. The Longmill MK2 seemed like a good machine at a reasonable price. I ordered the mK2 and it arrived in complete and good shape in about a week. Now, I had a great concern about my small amount of gray matter being able to handle the assembly. But, thanks to the videos that Chris made for assembly, I felt like an expert while putting it to gather. I was ready to attact the design software. I have tried a couple of different CAD programs and will try some more as I haven’t found one with the features I would like. ( You have to remember I have not had any experience in this area, so, there may not be such a CAD.) I have created several simple designs for practice. ( Halloween Lanterns, Boxes, Holiday and Cartoon plaques for grandkids and other items for friends and family. – remember this is a hobby for me.) The G-sender works great . There were a few mistakes in my projects, but they were my fault not the machines. I am very happy with the Longmill.
I am very anxious for Chris to make a video for installing the Lasar on the Longmill as I am excited to purchase one.
Thanks for this affordable machine
